Nocturnal Flowers exists somewhat differently than most projects. For starters we have a rotating cast of artists and musicians as opposed to a set lineup. We also welcome a whole community of visual artists, poets, and engineers to distill a multimedia Psychedelic experience.

 

So what exactly is “Psychedelic?”

 

For me it is simply the process of the psyche examining itself. In fact, the word Psychedelic comes from the Greek words psychḗ, which means "soul/mind" and dēleín, which means "to manifest or shed light on." Psychedelic art is fun. Psychedelic art is mystery. It can offer lighthearted amusement while at other times profound realization and growth.

 

Nocturnal Flowers is a project intended to encourage a sense of interconnectedness, awe, and humbleness. Circumstances often turn bleak. The future: an ever changing unknown. But even as our grandest, most prolific lights are blown out there are still those flowers that grow in darkness. Because that is their nature.
